By adjusting the variables that control Longplayer, new compositions can be created that might last only a very short time. Composer-curator Emma Welton, with musicians from the University of Exeter, realises one of these compositions in a live setting. Jem Finer: Longplayer

Longplayer is a 1000-year-long musical composition. It began playing at midnight on 31 December 1999, and will continue to play without repetition until the last moment of 2999. Conceived and composed by Jem Finer, it can be heard online; through an app; and at listening posts around the world.

Peter Randall-Page: Geometry of Desire IV

Internationally exhibited and acclaimed sculptor Peter Randall-Page RA Elect brings Geometry of Desire IV to St Martin’s Church. Carved sinuously from Rossi Luanda marble and mounted on an oak stand, the sculpture evokes universal organic forms, at the same time pleasing and atavistic.
