I paint flowers, birds and animals in watercolour. I am inspired by many subjects and create freer works in acrylic, print and mixed media. Originals and prints, framed and unframed and many different cards are on display.

We Are Fans: Zine Workshop

Join artists Pineapple Falls and Beth Emily Richards in making your own zine! Taking inspiration from ’90s fanzine culture, they’ll be collaging, drawing, and photocopying to create your own zine to take away and share. All materials provided.

AWE gave a shout-out to artists, students and creative people across the city, in a bid to fill our visual landscape with art. At a time when advertising shouts at us and everything seems to be vying for our attention, we feel it's good to provide a space that isn't trying to sell you something, but transport you to a different place.

AWEsome Printmaking kids workshops

Short bookable printmaking sessions for children aged 8+. While you drop off and pick up your child, take a few minutes to browse the artwork in the studio. All sales raise funds and will further Double Elephant’s work in the community.

Protest Poster Workshop

Create a series of two-colour posters using a vintage Risograph machine. Combine collaged source material with marker pens and stencils to create your template. Workshop leaders will also discuss legal ways of sharing your posters with the wider public and shouting your subversive message to the world!

Anthi Kay Ceramics

My ceramics, whether thrown or hand built, take on a very simplistic shape and form which then carries through to the glazing with a contemporary but classic feel. My hope is they are seen as both aesthetic and practical in their use.

Magic Carpet participants have decided to help their art escape the studio! All of the Exeter and Honiton groups have been making multi-media forays into the world of fashion and you can pick up your own individual, affordable piece of the action.

Beth Luxton

Beth combines photographic screen printing and painting to create vibrant monochromatic work. She unites fragments and layers within the frame of a single image, mixing the temporalities and spatial forms of the painted, the printed and the digitally rendered.

Caroline Hart wallpaperboats

Abstract boat paintings using ink and pastel on vintage maps, framed in rustic reclaimed frames resembling the hulls of boats outside the studio on Topsham Quay, together with drypoint and monoprints of abstract boats and buoys.

Sheila J Thorne

Non-figurative abstract expressionist paintings celebrating my emotional response to colour. I apply layers of acrylic paint freely to the canvas on the floor with improvised tools, not brushes, thus allowing the image to develop spontaneously.

Katya Romankevich

Large colourful abstract work created using lino as a print surface on which to print multi-layer blocks of colour and texture. Each mark leads to the next and intuitively links with the colours and textures developing on the paper.

Jess Davies

Jess Davies makes reduction linocut and drypoint prints about the Devon landscape. She often uses unusual, striking, but simple compositions to summon up the essence of a place, and is known for using a marriage of strong and subdued colours in her work.
